hey, i just did a fresh install of ubuntu on an hp/compaq nc4010 and it worked great! just a little editing to the apt.sources and a little editing to the xorg.conf and rock and roll.
now my computer looks like all those ones they use on sci-fi movies and on 24! i can't wait to use it to do a presentation at work on the big screen. "let's see.... i've got your file over on this desktop here. hang on!"
i just wanted to post because usually what gets posted here are problems and crys for help--i thought a "it all worked a-o-kay" note would be a nice change.

i have the same pc and have just installed ubuntu and wants to install beryl as well. i have tried to use this guide: http://lhansen.blogspot.com/2006/10/...untu-edgy.html
but it did not work.
