kubuntu strange ark behaviour

kubuntu: strange ark behaviour.

hi,

i've got the feeling there is something wrong with ark on my system. i've used it several times to create archives or extract files and not a single time this worked without errormessages. for example:

createing a tar-file directly from konquerer: right click -> compress to archive.tar.gz results in:

tar: extern: cannot stat: no such file or directory
tar: excel.php: cannot stat: no such file or directory
tar: zip.php: cannot stat: no such file or directory
. .
.

all these files are existing and they have the same owner, group, rights as all the other files that were added without an error. can anybody help me, what is wrong here?

and the other way: trying to extract a tar.gz file nearly alway results in error messages as well:

tar: some/file.ext: not found in archive
tar: some/file.ext: not found in archive
. .
.

here as well this seems to happen completely random, all files inside the archive are pretty much the same but for some it just gives me an error. any ideas?
