ubuntu 6.06 desktop guides
the desktop guides are developed by the ubuntu documentation team for each release. they aim to provide help for setting up ubuntu for common tasks and configuring the desktop.
a version of the guides exists for ubuntu, kubuntu and xubuntu, and the guides are translated to many languages.
you can find the guides:
* inside your system (go to the system help)
* on the ubuntu documentation website at http://help.ubuntu.com in html or pdf format
* on the ubuntu documentation project store at http://lulu.com/ubuntu-doc in paper form
thanks, hope they help!

did you read the first post?
i would like to report a ... kind of a bug.
i installed xubuntu from scratch, and when i open the .pdf desktop guide, some text is shown wrong.
(see attached screenshot, guide downloaded today)
its opened with evince 0.5.2
i am not sure if acroread would also show that, but maybe its a bed impression for new users when the documentation doesnt work 100% "out of the box"...
